Shipping & Returns

Every piece is made or printed to order and ships directly from the partner who makes it. Here is what to expect on cost, timing and returns.

Shipping rates

United States — $6.99 per order. One flat fee at checkout, however many items you order and however many packages they arrive in.

International — $12.99 per order for the book and journals. One flat fee to more than 200 countries and territories, however many copies you order. Jewelry ships worldwide for $8.99 per order, with import duties included. For the book and journals, import duties, VAT or other charges set by your country are not included and are paid on delivery.

Candles ship within the United States only

Our print partner cannot currently deliver to Belarus, the Central African Republic, Comoros, Cuba, Equatorial Guinea, the Falkland Islands, Guinea-Bissau, Iran, Kiribati, Myanmar, Nauru, Niue, North Korea, Crimea, Russia, Saint Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha, Saint Pierre and Miquelon, São Tomé and Príncipe, Sierra Leone, the Solomon Islands, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Syria, Tajikistan, Tokelau, Turkmenistan, Tuvalu, Ukraine, Venezuela, Yemen or the US Minor Outlying Islands. Orders, including digital editions, can't be placed from these places for now.

International orders that combine jewelry and print are sent separately by each maker, so the shipping for each appears as its own line at checkout.

How orders ship

Candles are hand poured and shipped from New Hampshire. The book and journals are printed to order and shipped by our print partner, and jewelry is shipped by our jewelry partner. An order that combines items arrives in separate packages, often on different days.

Timing

Candles — prepared and dispatched within about two business days

Book and journals — nothing is printed until you order it. Printing starts about a day after you order and takes a few business days, and most orders within the United States arrive in about a week. Outside the US, copies are printed at the press nearest you where possible (US, Canada, UK, France, Australia or India); allow two to three weeks. Around the holidays, printing can take a little longer.

Memoir pre-orders — Following the Signs goes to press after its release on November 23, 2026, so pre-ordered paperbacks ship from then and the digital edition arrives by email on release day

Jewelry — delivered in five to eight business days to the US and the UK, and slightly longer elsewhere

A tracking link is emailed as each package ships

Returns

Every piece is made, printed or packed just for you, so all sales are final. If anything arrives damaged, defective or not what you ordered, we'll make it right: email hello@alignthesigns.com within 14 days of delivery with your order number and a photo, and we'll replace it or refund it and its shipping. There's no need to post anything back.

Digital editions cannot be returned once sent. If a file is faulty, we will send a working copy, or refund it if we cannot fix it.

Changes and cancellations

Orders can be changed or canceled within twenty-four hours of being placed, before they go into production. Once a copy has gone to press it cannot be redirected or stopped.

Pre-orders of Following the Signs can be canceled for a full refund at any time before November 23, 2026

Delivery address

Please confirm your address before checkout. Once an order has gone into production, it cannot be redirected, and we cannot replace parcels lost or returned because of an incorrect address.
